I just found out today that the guy who came to look at my current living space in Virginia actually WANTS IT, so that means I have to be OUT before August 31st!! He's just suddenly pushed the FAST FORWARD button on this moving plan of ours!!
So, today I have:
1. Reserved the U-Haul truck.
2. Put in my notice at my job to work until next Tuesday.
3. Called my doctor, dentist, eye doctor and Sassy's vet to get all medical records sent to me.
4. Made an eye doctor appointment for next Tuesday evening, to get rechecked.
5. Cancelled the ad on craig's list and on roommates.com
6. Arranged with Pete's son to have him take time off his job to help us load and unload everything.
7. Notified David of the new roommate moving in next week.
8. Gathered a ton of empty boxes from my current job's recycle bins behind the building.
Now I just have to change my address with my car insurance, car payment place, etc., and post office. And of course, pack all my stuff like a wild woman, and paint the bathroom (because pink is NOT the new roommate guy's favorite color).
Then, add to this the fact that Pete is coming down to VA on Friday to help me do more packing, and then we are getting up early and spending all day Saturday in Wildwood NJ with Ben for the last time I get to see him...and then we're heading north in NJ to stay overnight at a new place that belongs to a friend of ours, and then driving home early on Sunday to do more packing.
I really don't know how the HECK I'm going to get all this done before next Friday. AARRRRGHHH!!!
BUT, here's the scoop about our Michigan trip:
We are still going to be there!! We might have to arrive a day late though. If we can get everything loaded up into the moving truck on Friday morning, then unloaded in Pittsburgh on Friday night and into early Saturday morning, then we can be there by Saturday evening.
We will keep you posted.
In the meantime, we have talked about possibly extending our October visit, when we have to be in Detroit for David's wedding on October 12th, so stay tuned for that possibility too.
