Moving is a pain in the patoot!

You never really know how much STUFF you've got until you pack it and move it somewhere. I'm surrounded by boxes right now, but I am slowly making progress on getting my new apartment set up and looking nice. I will take some photos soon to post here on the blog too.

All in all, it has been a very busy week, my muscles and bones ache from all the heavy lifting and moving around of furniture, etc., but I'm making good progress. The kitchen is almost done, just need to paint the bottom cupboards to match the top cupboards.

With all the junk I've accumulated over the years, we've decided to have a yard sale in a few weeks, to get rid of some stuff we just don't need or use. So in addition to unpacking boxes and putting things in various rooms, I am also weeding out and sorting things to get ready for that.

The trip to Michigan was very short---almost chaotically so---and I think we have decided that, next time, we make hotel arrangements way ahead of time...sleeping in a tent in my sister's backyard was okay, luckily it's not TOO cold outside at night yet, but we tried to cram too much fun into a very short time and we were both exhausted.  So I think we'll have to just go home again to visit but maybe take more time to plan ahead first.

It was nice to see my mom and sister and her family...my nephews have grown so much!  I also spent a short time with Laurie's kids, and they have changed a lot too since the last time I've seen them. But they are all doing very well and that's all that matters.

So far I haven't seen much of Pittsburgh, just the inside of this house and the surrounding block of where I now live.  This coming weekend we are driving up to Rochester NY to visit with Pete's mom. It is her 88th birthday so we're having a party with all of Pete's kids (most of whom live there too), so that should be interesting.  We'll be bringing Sassy along, despite the fact that his mom has two cats, so that should be a challenge to keep them all separated.

Anyway, back to unpacking and sorting...bye for now. Love, Becky
