New job update

Ahhh, I have just finished my first week at my new job, and I gotta say, it ain't too bad.  I kinda like it, because, well, they don't have a lot of hard things for me to work on!!  Just easy stuff really, like filing and answering phones.  I can dig it though, and I'm sure with time I'll take on more projects and do more stuff for them all.  I work in the Legal Department of a company called LIMBACH, and you can view their web site at www.limbach-inc.com, that handles construction stuff, and workers comp injuries, and they have locations all around the country so you can imagine the huge filing cabinets of papers that I now get to sort through and reorganize...but they really need that badly so I'm up for the challenge.

Anyway, so the new job is going well, and I'm still working part-time at Michaels on weekends, but that will probably just be through the holidays for some extra money to buy presents with.

Thanksgiving is coming up soon, and we're planning to drive to New York to pick up Pete's mom, and bring her back to spend the week with us.  We will do the same for MY mom at some point, probably in the springtime, when the weather isn't all snowy and icy and we have more money to splurge on her than we do right now.  I have to get busy finishing up with this unpacking stuff...yeah yeah yeah, I'm STILL not quite done with it all, but I'm getting there. Some days I just don't touch any of it.  Then the days turn into weeks...ah well, whatcha gonna do.  It'll get done, though, and the homestead will be decent and clean for her visit.

Tomorrow night Pete and Lisa are taking me to see David Byrne in concert. I don't know much about this guy, but okay, I'll go and see what he's all about.  In January, Pete bought tickets for us to go see my favorite female comedienne, LISA LAMPENELLI!!  That is going to be a HOOT! She's like the female version of Don Rickles, and I love her.  So that will be very cool.

In December, Pete is scheduled to perform in a Christmas play, so he'll be rehearsing the next few weekends and after work on weeknights again, and then the play runs from December 5-20th. After that, we'll go to DC so he can see the National Tree, since he's never been there for that.  We might go see his kids in NY at some point too, but I'm not sure about that yet.

Ben, my pen-pal "son" from Ghana, might actually be coming back to visit us for Xmas, too, so that is something he's now working on to get a temporary visa.  And of course, my friends Barbara and Nikki might also be coming to visit at the end of November for a weekend.

It's going to be a busy holiday season, but the good news is, I don't have to cook for Thanksgiving!! YAYYYY!!  Pete bought a turkey fryer thing, so we'll do that out on the front porch deck area, and then I'll do the little stuff, like mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce and veggie tray, etc., but his son Nate will be the one baking the pies!  I'm gonna be a lazy chick and just pig out and probably get stuck with doing all the dang dishes....did I mention we don't have a dishwasher here?!  Yeah. Ahem. BLEAH, I mean.

Anyway, so that's the scoop from our world of poop.

Bye for now. Love, Becky and Pete
